Our Team
Dr. Sunny Fridge
Dr. Sunny Fridge is an award-winning professional speaker, educator, and communications consultant with a strong focus on a communication skills academy. As a certified coach, speaker, and trainer with the John Maxwell Team, Dr. Sunny empowers individuals through her public speaking courses. She founded Chance Network Inc, a non-profit venture committed to youth empowerment and the personal and professional development of young people and women. Additionally, she created the Speak & Shine communication and public speaking workshops and courses for both kids and adults. Before her retirement, Dr. Sunny spent 20 years as a university professor in Communications and Journalism. During her time in New York City working for CBS, she had the privilege of interviewing prominent figures like General Colin Powell, Regis Philbin, and Oprah Winfrey!

Isabel Kadoorie
Isabel Kadoorie is a software engineer (MS EE, MS CS) and long-time Toastmaster. She has served as a club officer in several Toastmasters clubs and as the District 18 Administration Manager. Devoted to youth empowerment, she is passionate about helping children and young people develop essential communication skills. "Public speaking skills will do wonders for your life," she often tells kids. In 2019, she founded a Youth Gavel Club to further support this mission. To enhance her efforts, she collaborated with Dr. Sunny Fridge to create the Speak & Shine® Academy, a communication skills academy designed for young individuals. Isabel's child, Angela, has been a member of both the Academy and the Club since their inception. Along with many other student members, Angela has learned to become a better communicator and a confident speaker. Speak & Shine has been instrumental in helping more and more young people unleash their inner power through public speaking courses!

Our History
Speak & Shine Academy was launched during the Pandemic. What first seemed like an obstacle became an opportunity as organizations pivoted from face-to-face meetings to online formats. Surprisingly, we have found that kids not only enjoy technology but also benefit significantly from our public speaking courses, which enhance their communication skills. This shift has ultimately contributed to youth empowerment, helping the next generation to thrive in a digital world.
